US Airways cutting in-flight movies
US Airways says it will start removing in-flight entertainment systems on domestic flights in November to save about $10 million annually in fuel and other costs.

Don't even get me started on this, I am forever aggravated that I have to pay 50 bucks for a bag that goes over 50 pounds, while someone can be more than 3 times my weight and still insist on paying for (and squeezing into) one seat.ghostjmf wrote:I bet a "thin people fly cheaper" program would get a lot of people into weight loss they've been "putting off".

I'd gladly pay for it now, if it meant someone would go in there at least once during the flight and clean it up and maybe spritz some air freshener! Heck I'd pay for that even if I didn't use it but had a seat within 4 rows of the bathroom! On my second flight yesterday, the bathroom facilities were declared "out of order" while we were still in the terminal, and they delayed boarding by five minutes in case anybody wanted to race down the concourse for a pre-flight nature stop. Nobody complained, to my knowledge. If they ever do go to a by-the-pound program, I think they should combine the weight of the person and the luggage. That would encourage almost everybody to pack more lightly. Did you know you get Charmin to go...both tissue and seat covers. I haven't purchased the seat covers, but must admit to having purchased the tissue.
Might be worth looking into for the next trip.

I've never seen the seat covers, but I did purchase the tissue when I went to Europe. I heard horror stories, but turns out there were actual toilets and toilet paper everywhere I went! Fortunately for me, the flight where they threatened to show Definitely, Maybe was an overnighter, so I was spared. But it may have helped put the kids to sleep. On the way home they showed 21, which I had wanted to see because I had read the book, and it was entertaining but not half as interesting as the real story.
I can take or leave most movies. I saw The Last Mimzy without sound since I had surrendered the headphones to Rain Man, and I can't imagine having wanted to HEAR it, too...
