Classified material
It looks like Donny mishandled classified material on his way out of the White House. I wonder how many of the people who got their panties in a bunch about Secretary Clinton's e-mail practices will be up in arms about this development. Or will they find some way to rationalize the conclusion that while Secretary Clinton's e-mail practices were disqualifying, Donny's mishandling of classified material is not?
And will the press give this development the same wall-to-wall coverage bestowed upon Secretary Clinton's e-mails? (Spoiler alert: no.) --Bob

This is the first I've seen of this as I haven't been following the news recently but once found out did President Trump destroy, or instruct to destroy all the evidence? Let's compare apples to rotten apples.

He must have mishandled classified material while still in the White House to have it available to take out.Bob78164 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 12:08 pmIt looks like Donny mishandled classified material on his way out of the White House. I don't recall any reporting of boxes of papers being taken when TFG moved out of the White House. Were they removed sometime before, or were they clandestinely taken?

Re: Classified material
You must have missed the accounts of TFG ripping up papers that were supposed to be preserved. His staff had to tape them up.
There's no evidence that any other White House occupant destroyed any documents.

Yeah, that's what it LOOKS LIKE, doesn't it.
Of course the standards of evidence get kind of moved depending upon what one is talking about.
I think I've wasted my time here. Inflation at a 40 year high, 9000 Americans left stranded in Afghanistan, 2 million+ illegal border crossings since Biden took office, Gas prices through the roof, etc.etc etc. But let's make a big deal about a Trump non story. yeah, that's the ticket.
I'm done here. I tried. Waste of time.
Oh BTW BobJuch. Google Sandy Berger. That is if you don't have anything more important to do.

What rationalization? You brought up HRC and the media. Much of what the media (right-wing media anyway) hounded on was her destruction of the servers and phones preventing any investigation of what classified information was stored who whom it might have been given to. I'm not rationalizing anything Trump may have done. Just asking you about any potential aggravating activities.

On a related note, I know exactly what and who my next sermon will be about, so you just made my work a lot easier this weekend. Then again, I've never had a difficult time with sermons because the attitudes of you, BiT, Flock, TMITSSS, Calvinator, Confessor, Beast, Sprots, Fanny, Skoop, Estonut, Vandal, Weasel, jarnon, Melly, peacock, Frank, and Bob#s over the past 12 years has provided a fount of sermon material. By the way, I'm not bitter. How can I be bitter when I became a millionaire off of your attitude?

Re: Classified material
Sources have said there were many top-secret documents in TFG's stash, as well as some "beyond-top-secret". Also, the papers were not taken to Mar-a-Largo upon TFG's exit but bit by bit over the years.

I would point out that, unlike his three immediate predecessors, Trump is not barred by the Constitution from running again. So bringing this sort of security breach up now is not a matter of sour grapes but letting the public know something vital about a man who might be President again.flockofseagulls104 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 2:30 pmBut let's make a big deal about a Trump non story. yeah, that's the ticket.

Re: Classified material
So apparently TFG is a reference to Biden's inability to remember things, like names (and former jobs, schools, degrees and rank within class, but I digress). Why would BJ use that as a reference.
And don't say Biden was intentionally trying to disrespect former President Trump. He's had to resort to general references in many many occasions such as "that guy" and "you know the thing".
Appreciate the reminder that you helped put someone mentally incompetent in charge of your country.

Very difficult to prosecute a case like this because the President has the unilateral authority to declassify anything he wants. The argument an ex-President would make is that he simply waved his hand over said documents and they instantly became declassified.
I know everyone wants to get their digs in but other than for moral rectitude, not a lot of time ought to be wasted on this particular transgression.

Re: Classified material
Oh yes, the national security classification that is so high and so secret that it does not actually exist -- "beyond-top-secret".

There are three and only three national security classifications available for documents:
(1) "Top Secret" shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security.
(2) "Secret" shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause serious damage to the national security.
(3) "Confidential" shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause damage to the national security.
I can hear you now: "What about Unclassified?" Obviously, there cannot be a classification of a document that is "there is no classification level." Also, there no longer is "For Official Use Only". What we have now is the designation "Controlled Unclassified Information."
Also, contrary to what movies may have told you, "Code Word Clearance" is not a classification or security designation itself. It is used to denote a limited group of people at a security classification level that can access/read the information. You can have a code word for Secret documents or Top Secret. I do not think that it is used much for Confidential.

Nope. You could make arguments about personality and morality, but mental ability, no.
