"Feed my modalities" needs to be a book title. Or at least an opening line. It is right up there with "Call me Ishmael".

Due to the corrupt and inefficient Banking Systems in Nigeria...
The UNITED NATIONS have chosen two different Nigerian banks to deal with this, for TWICE the corruption and inefficiency!

I would like key lime, please. (If Wintergreen already has eaten all the key lime pie in the western hemisphere, I will accept Dutch apple, but it's a distant second choice.)

Chocolate lovers would love my Toll House pie. All the ingredients of chocolate chip cookies, except maybe twice the amount of butter.
It is to die for! I leave out the walnuts. Doesn't add anything and I just think it's better without them.

NESTLE TOLL HOUSE PIE

2 eggs
1/2 c. unsifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
6 oz. pkg. (1 c.) Nestle semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 c. chopped walnuts
9 inch unbaked pie shell
Whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, beat eggs until foamy, beat in flour, sugar, and brown sugar until well blended. Blend in melted butter. Stir in Nestles semi-sweet real chocolate morsels and walnuts. Pour into pie shell. Bake 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream (if desired).

I am not so much a fan of pies, though I love good crusts, but I will make an exception for sweet potato pie.

We would be happier people if there was mint julep pie.

The picture has a top crsut as well.

Do you use the top crust, even though it's not in the recipe?

I just might make this for this thing I have to bring dessert to.

'Round these parts we call this a "Derby pie" (actually we call it something else because "Derby Pie"® is a registered trademark of Kern's Kitchen, the originator of the particular recipe that gets served a lot this time of year.

It's not a top crust, even though it does appear so in the photo.
It bakes with a nice even "crust-like" topping that rises to the top as
it bakes. It's very sweet. My kids used to call it "sliver pie" since a sliver is really the correct serving size. :)

It's really easy to make and not time consuming at all. Of course, I use a pre-made pie shell.
