Living single all weekend

#1 Post by kayrharris » Fri Apr 18, 2008 4:33 pm

I'm already worthless. Ordering pizza from Mellow Mushroom and renting a movie.

Natalie has a covered dish lunch on Sunday, so she brought me green beans to cook for her. She's sure hers won't turn out and I am well known for my green beans. Other than that, which I can do tomorrow, there is nothing on my list of things to do this weekend. :D

Sounds wonderful.

I am the lone adult this weekend. Hubbys in San Diego to give a talk. Kids and dogs and I are going to try to survive 4 days alone.

I hope you have some nice weather....maybe some outdoor activities will save the day for a while.

If I were closer, I'd be happy to come help you out!

Mine's in Seattle. It would be great if it weren't for the am baseball obligation tomorrow. Ick.

Who sets those ball schedules anyway. If I recall, there's no sleeping in on Saturday once Little League starts back up.

I feel for ya!

Worse--it's picture day! Gotta be there at 9:15 for an 11 am game. Plus we had rain last week, so we had a makeup game at 7 last night, since today was a day off from school (staff day.)

He loves it, so what can I do...?

You're a good mom. It will be a long day. My son's first LL team was new (sort of an expansion that year) with a brand new coach. They went 1-16 that year. OMG!

Thank goodness for the 10 run rule......

We have soccer tomorrow morning at 9:30 and we're missing Ivy's toddler play class cause I can't be in both places.

Little league hasn't kicked in here yet. but by the end of the month we'll be double sportin' it.

This team looks so skinny compared to the team they played last night, who had beaten the previous opponent 27-3! But they were tied when time was called, so Andrew was thrilled and called it the most exciting game in Mustang baseball history. They won their other two games. So far only 3 games in almost as many weeks because of that rain!

You all are making me feel old! :(

The next LL game I might have to worry about will be in about 12 years for my great-grandson!

Sounds like a leisurely day.

Son had soccer at 9:30, baseball at 10:30, and then run to audition for summer production of "Wizard of Oz" (partially run by our dance studio.)

Daughter had dance from 9:00 to 2:30, had to run lunch to her at 11:30 (luckily, corresponded to when son was auditioning at studio.)

I am hoping for rain on Monday: son has soccer practice at 3:45, and then a baseball game where he has to be at the field at 5:15 (field is at least 20 minutes from soccer practice).

Meanwhile, daughter has dance class at 5:15.

It really seemed like baseball and soccer did not overlap as much last year.

I can not imagine how we will survive when we are running three kids to three different evetns all at the same time.

I'm lucky my other kids didn't want to do organized sports. My oldest might want to row next year since that's an option for high school, but his cousin warned him about being at the docks at 6:30 am, so that may have quashed that. Mini-me turned down volleyball for his one true love, baseball.

I love my kids' "disorganized sports." They had me laughing so hard yesterday with their game of polo (or "pogo," according to Erin) played on bicycles with croquet mallets and a tennis ball. Then it devolved into a weird blend of street hockey and polo when they decided the bikes put them up too high. Erin was also out there with a bat and a tee and a tennis ball, and every time she hit the ball hard she'd call out her hilarious combo of "score" and "goooaaall" that comes out as "gorge!"

Sounds like she's all set for some sightseeing up here, where "Ithaca is Gorges"! 8)
