I think I see Tahnee and Noelle in that picture. Maybe Lee Ann or others will recognize anyone else who stuck around.

If that photo is of the audition room, it seems to be the same that I remember from my Hollywood Squares audition in the mid 90s.

Yes, Tahnee's in the picture. I got an email from her yesterday saying their office has moved to Los Angeles.

That's enough proof for me! I'm really surprised about this.

Anyone in LA wanna be my plus one? Sorry I can't pimp myself out for it on the west coast.

now the rumor of taping in Vegas comes out. That certainly makes more sense to me than LA.

Costs would be cheaper, it would be easy to fill the audience and not have to pay that audience, people from all over the country are always around Vegas, so they would get a better diversity of geographical location than they are getting in Stamford. They could even keep their main offices in LA and still film in Vegas.

If I have to fly across the country, I would rather do this in Vegas as the taxes on winnings would be so much cheaper (no state income tax in Nevada). I could also get cheaper flights to Vegas and maybe, just maybe afford to bring a plus one instead of having to find a local.

Hey, maybe they're just looking for gamblers, though they could find them at any east-coast casino. And they've had enough people gambling on what they don't know already. Maybe they think gamblers would be more likely not to burn lifelines early on what they do know.

Plus I'm sure there's now extra taping space since Monopoly Millionaires Club was canceled.

I would love for the taping to be in Vegas...when they finally call me and I win that million, the taxes will be much lower than in California.

I want to see "Contestants Who Can Make it Past $5000 Without a Lifeline" week.

This season, I believe about 10% didn't even leave the studio with $5000, even with using lifelines.

I'd personally like a "no $5,000 bomb-out week." I'm pretty there wasn't any this season after the first 2 weeks. :?

This may be slightly off topic, but I am hoping they bring the Risk Format into play this season. It fits perfectly with the move to Las Vegas, and it would definitely spice up the game without busting the budget.

Risk Format is a variation of the classic format that some versions of WWTBAM uses. You can get a 4th lifeline at the vegining of the game, but it will cost you one of the guaranteed safe levels. The German version uses this, has "Ask One of the Audience" as its fourth lifeline, and the second safe level is removed. The Russian Version, which executes this better in my opinion, has Double Dip as the 4th lifeline and you can place your one guaranteed safe level ANYWHERE on the money tree.

Of course, playing the Risk Format is completely optional, and at the beginning of the game players choose between playing in classic mode or risk mode.

Does this mean the German version gives a 2nd ATA, or is that not in the original 3 a player gets? Not worth it IMO.

I would sure eliminate the first safe level for a double dip. Would be great to have both that and 50/50 left at a high level if needed. I probably have about a 40% chance of getting to the 2nd safe spot without any lifelines anyway, and likely a 90%+ chance of getting there with lifelines.

I was lucky enough to be in the audience for two episodes of the German version in 2009 while on holiday and the "Ask One of the Audience" works as such:
1. Player decides to go with "Risk format" and the Q10 safe haven is eliminated. Player is granted 4th lifeline from the start and keeps ATA, 50/50 and PAF as well.
2. When player plays this lifeline, they bring up the house lights. Anyone who thinks they know the answer can stand up. Player picks one person who is standing up and they have a dialogue. Audience member locks in a "suggestion".
3. If player goes with said suggestion and if they are both right, audience member wins 500 Euros and the game continues from there.

I like the idea of putting your safe haven wherever you want... I think that would be a great addition to the US version.

Cheers,
Ryan.

If I'm not mistaken, at least one or two people tried putting their save haven at the penultimate question, in order to give themselves a free guess for the top prize. Not sure if anyone was successful though.

From what I heard, one of players who did that got the 149th question wrong and left with NOTHING. :(

If I was allowed to set my own milestone, I certainly wouldn't put it at any higher than $20,000. Questions above that level are usually too tricky to risk everything on it.

I see that today is the last day for L.A. auditions ... Good luck to anyone attending.

Unfortunately this is the type of reasoning we've seen so few make it to the $100,000 question in the last couple of years. They have had too many contestants who simply aren't willing to take risks.

I figure it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and if I truly believe I belong on that stage, than I'm good enough to go all the way. I will go in with the decision already made of $100,000 or bust; and if I can even eliminate one answer at $250,000, I'm going for it. We'll see what happens after that...if they would just call me already!
