Seriously dude, if this were a Freshman Comp Essay, it would have earned an "F"

[Please remember that I'm not a jerk, I just write like one.]
Why would you make a statement like this???

I, for one, would beg to differ.

Let us consider the possibility that all of this is a masterful PR campaign by ABC, intended to get us to watch Cavemen.

I sincerely hope that the BC surgery was successful Beebs52.

I feel it is accurate to state that some diseases are more deserving than others. BC research receives far more funding per death than any other disease. In fact, if all of the funding for colon cancer only benefited women, they would still receive less money per death. Even the federal government provides a quarter of a billion dollars more on researching BC than colon cancer.

But kudos to women for generating more money for BC. The biggest problem I have with it is that due to media bias women women significantly overstate their risk of BC. In fact, only 8% of women believe heart disease represents their greatest health risk. They believe BC is their top health risk, even though lung cancer kills 70% more women than BC.

BTW: Even women diagnosed with BC are much more likely to die of heart disease.

Wouldn't you agree that if one disease killed fewer people yet received a disproportionate amount of funding that that disease should be considered less deserving?

I would include outtakes of my book on the matter, but I've already upset too many people.

Godspeed on your recovery!

That just might be the case.

It wouldn't produce the desired result, and....... it just might be the case.

Although Caveman would seem more sane after this crud.

The Cavemen are actually urbane sophisticates. They just have an adversion to razors and scissors. :)

Sting had me tape Caveman. I have yet to get to it in the ever expanding library. I did ask him today if we had to watch all of them in the can after seeing the first one.

He said no.

Thank goodness

You must admit that it reads very HoltDaddian, though. Like HoltDad on steroids! Lots of faux concern for fellow posters followed by non-sensical statements designed to inflame.

Thanks for your solicitous statement. As I said, it's been five years. The surgery appears to have been successful. One is never cured.

If I believed that if disproportionate funding determined the "value" of something, we'd all be dead really fast a long time ago.

The likelihood of you becoming disabled, short or long term, by someone who's unable to manage the fist of death (Dilbert's hand raising if you don't know what it is), rather than prostate cancer or heart disease, is at a percentage so past the norm I fear for your well being.
Well, then

He does - but way off the chart.

The tendencies you so brilliantly captured are there as well.

I agree entirely. There is not enough money spent to combat avarice and deceit.

Earendel that is the reason I included the Millionaire stats in the Ambition section rather than the Intelligence section.

You're absolutely right TheCalvinator24 on both counts. I need to rethink that statement and correct the other.

Beebs52, the subject of the book relates to many different female myths. The ambition and intelligence section relates to the myth regarding "glass ceiling" while the BC myth is independent.

I appear to be creating a lot of enemies (which I fully expected at the release of the book), so I'll stop trying to even dig myself out. I thoroughly enjoyed the lively banter throughout all of your recent message strings in this board. You obviously have created a very special place here with many close friends. Sorry to have disrupted things so much.

Thank you for all the constructive criticism! Bye.

Why, you, you generous open-book,you! I LIKE avarice. In fact, I like the red ones better than the black ones. And the twizzler ones.

If you were in a hurry and just skimmed this thread, you could get the impression this guy thinks breast cancer is a female myth.

Great work ya'll. I'm not quick enough or creative enough to banter, but I do rec all of you for doing such a good job.
