new job 2 week update

#1 Post by a1mamacat » Sun Sep 28, 2014 10:57 am

Nice and busy.

There is about 2 months of correspondence to be logged and filed, and some were overlooked, so abject apology letters and phone calls must be made.

Small team - Advocate, Deputy Advocate, Executive Director, Communications Manager, Executive Assistant, and myself and my co-worker Chris, the Intake Analysts. Very friendly group, and they are very impressed with the knowledge we have about senior issues. We are included in planning sessions and roundtables, and our opinions are asked and welcomed  Such a change from the last 3 years in limbo.

Only problem working directly with management, is they don't have set hours, and we do LOL. I have been working on database topics with the E.D., and already have been at least 1/2 hour late leaving 3 times.

Our workstations are in the main area, and it is quite a change. For the past 3 years, we have been just us two in a closed room, with 5 empty work stations. (no more 1/2 hour nap sneaks for me

Tired at the end of the day, eye ache as I do need new glasses too, with all the reading of letters and computer work, but it is a good tired, not a bored tired. I think I am excited about work again.

Congrats Sauce! I'm so happy for your non-limbo status and good tired.
Well, then

This sounds wonderful! I wish everyone could do work that they love!

Good to hear the good news. :D

I am glad its turning out good. Maybe your application to that other in-agency job made them afraid they could lose you to jobs elsewhere in the world. Or maybe they were planning this move for you & your colleague all along in the background, which could be why you really didn't get the other job. I just hope more money comes with this one for you, eventually, too.
