School Lockdown
The school that I pulled Maddie from in 7th grade (The GATE/IB magnet) has been on lockdown since 2:30 due to gunshots.
One of my friends called me to tell me. She said, I can only imagine what would have happened if Maddie had been there and they wouldn't let you get your kid.

I talked to Emma about the whole thing and she told me that in addition to fire drills, they have other drills in case of emergency. For instance, if there is an announcement, Mr. Soc, please come to the office, it means that a Stranger is On Campus and the doors to individual classrooms need to be locked until further notice.

If that had happened here, I'd give you 9 to 1 odds that the last thing the guy said before setting off the "bomb" was either "Hey, y'all, watch this!" or "Hold my beer."

Yeah, I remember what the streets looked like after 4th of July. There were piles of charcoaly paper everywhere. I lit off fireworks when I was 10 or 11. There are some cities in LA which sell fireworks in July. The kids think that it's a huge treat to light sparklers. They are the wimpiest fireworks of all.
