Monday non sequitur thread

#1 Post by NellyLunatic1980 » Mon Feb 04, 2008 2:22 pm

I get off of work in 38 minutes. I want to see that bloody gerbil before I go home. Less than 100 posts away from 35,000. I know we can do it.

I don't know 100 posts in 38 minutes at the end of the day?

Not likely!

Someone who has posted 696 posts since this Bored's inception wants 100 posts in 38 minutes? What's wrong with that picture? :P

British Man Killed in Italian Alps While Sledding on a Mattress

Report: 1 in 4 Britons Think Winston Churchill Never Existed

Makes feel better about this country, but afraid for the world.

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

There are ways it can be done. We can always revive my old "In My Pants" game.

Yuck! On second though, let's not revive "In My Pants".

I bet it wouldn't have happened if he had won big on WWTBAM and bought one of those memory foam mattresses! :P

It's just sticking the phrase "In My Pants" to the end of a movie title. This game even got its own Bored Rankings title one week.

Gotcha. Given some of the current movies, this could get scary.

Please don't. If only because it will make my workday at the Mighty Children's Book Empire that much more surreal.

Juno, In My Pants, could have actually been the title of the movie.

After all, Juno getting into Bleeker's pants, started the plot rolling in the movie Juno.
