Not only was she the cutest contestant EVER, she was quite good at the game.
She took a few reasonable risks on logical guesses early on that helped preserve her lifelines.

Too bad her son was such a poor phone a friend!

This was one of the best question stacks I've seen in a while. I wish I could've been on this show to receive these questions. I would've used ATA on the $15,000 question. I knew the answers to her $25K, $50K, and $100,000 questions. Id be going for $250,000 with three lifelines left.

Citing a dearth of senior contestants as inspiration, an invigorated 79-year-old Cliftonite conquered a test, an audition and then the hot seat of the hit game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" before walking away with a hefty $50,000 check in her name.

But is the dearth of senior contestants because they don't try out or because TPTB don't want them?

She said she was never an avid "Millionaire" viewer, however, and only broached the possibility of appearing on the show after a friend's e-mail urged her to try out.

Harvey kindly declined initially, believing she was too old for a program in which the majority of its contestants are in their 30s and 40s.*

"Well, audition, what have you got to lose," she recalls her friend Shelley saying.

Ah, the reluctant inspiration.

Well, maybe some twenty-something APs might be inspired to "take a chance" on more contestants who don't meet their standard list of demographic desirables.

This was one of the best question stacks I've seen in a while. I wish I could've been on this show to receive these questions. I would've used ATA on the $15,000 question. I knew the answers to her $25K, $50K, and $100,000 questions. Id be going for $250,000 with three lifelines left.

Of course, that presumes the audience would give you a good answer on an economics question, albeit one that could be reasoned from the title of the treatise. It's just as likely that they would have gone with "supply and demand," the phrase most lay people know, or that they would have split very widely.

I remember there was a Boondocks comic strip about this after Schwarzenegger was elected governor.
