OK, not EXACTLY..... I just used that word to accentuate that I was sure it's been 3 years, not just an uncertain number of years.....

3 years ago this week, half of this area was still without power after the storms that hit on the 19th and 21st.....

Why Mecca has been trying to imitate Target so much over the last few years befuddles me. Both stores have different ways in which they are successful, and what works there does NOT work here..... it has only made us worse.....

If they would put Subway in Target and make everything like 5% cheaper it would be a no brainer. Mecca still has a slight edge, but as we've discussed, the paper towel and toilet paper issues might just be my breaking point.

The only time I love Mecca is at Christmas when that particular store that is across from the Target goes 24 hours, but doesn't advertise it, and I can go in and shop at 1 am without being bothered...and with no lines.

We've only done the 24 hour thing twice since I've been there (2004 and 2005). Both times, the store was practically empty after midnight until the middle of Christmas week....

That may change this year with our new hours, since we are now open until midnight, and reopen as soon as the morning cashiers get clocked in around 6:30 instead of our posted 7:00 opening time....

Actually, smack dab in the middle of my old neighborhood (giving you a good picture of the places I live, huh?? It's actually in what used to be an upscale furniture store)...and painted it bright, bright yellow. It's not as big as "the" porn superstore that I may or may not have shopped in before, but it's the same chain. Because in CT, we do chain mega-store porn.
