Flat on my back today.
In the throes of that MAWG malady- lower back pain.
Twinged my back just leaning over Saturday night. Been in off and on agony since. Managed the hour drive to work a couple times this week but couldn't make it today. Awaiting insurance clearance for MRI. Disc or just muscle spasm? Stay tuned.

I'm gonna stop leaning over then.
And I'm gonna stop bending over backwards keeping my postal count up.
Seriously, I've had a bad back since my twenties and it flares up every once in a while. It's always muscular and rest and drugs usually take care of it. I hope yours is not disc related.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

I hope you feel better soon. I hurt my back a few years ago and it was awful, I was home on the couch for a couple of weeks. Want me to send you the narcotics I got for my 1st degreen burn?? (I still don't get that)

I used to waste a couple weeks in bed suffering with lower back pain every time I would tweak it, until I discovered "trigger point" injections, administered by a Pain Management and Rehab Specialist (M.D.).
24 - 36 hrs later - pain completely GONE. I wonder if it would help you? May be worth a try.
Of course, once you're all better you can brag, "I had a weak back, about a week back..."

Ooohhh... Been there done that many times over. Been to a chiro many times as well. However, several years ago I went to see my GP and he prescribed something that has caused my lower back pain not to re-appear (except if I seriously over-exert). When I had the back pain, he told me to put alternating hot and cold compresses on the affected area. This worked great and I use this method whenever I feel a twinge of pain in my lower back. Also, he told me to take a 500mg Vitamin C pill every day. I have been doing this for about 6 years now and have not had a serious lower back attack since. I am a little stiff in the AM when I first get up but after about 15-20 minutes, I'm fine. Update: after keeping myself mostly inert since Friday morning, I am feeling better. Now, I only have pain if I realy do something stupid, which I haven't done in a while.
The disc/muscle spasm issue will not be resolved anytime soon, because my insurance company will not pay for an MRI unless/until I do about a month of PT and things don't get any better.
Fortunately, I'd already booked PT starting Monday.
Back to the DVD player. I'm having a Preston Sturgis/Harold Lloyd film festival.
