Baby Boy survived

and moved on.

It was not pretty and I was afraid we were going to repeat the melt down of yesterday.

Not quite - we were 4 Up with 5 to play. Ended winning 1 UP.

The word is HALF the hole, not HAVE the hole. Is HALF a word that is pronounced differently in other parts of the country?

Actually, it is "Halved" the hole.

"With that long putt, Baby Boy was able to halve the hole."

And, as I've said before, I retired from golf when I realized that I must be twice as good as the pros, since my score is twice as high. :mrgreen:

They are not saying "have" they are saying "halve". Since they sound pretty much the same,(well, maybe exactly) I can understand why you think they are saying "have".
