I don't want to sign up for Facebook just to find BB news that ought to be shared here. :(

But Facebook is a happy place...it's never mean or hurtful! At least not in the circles I travel in!! And it is a lot easier to post pictures there!

All the people I want in my social network are already here!

And I don't know the first thing about Facebook culture. Do folks always sign up with their real names, instead of pseudonyms? :?

Yes, you use your real name. And you have to - one of my friends had tried to use a fake name but they don't allow it, it's not like myspace. Real names, but then you can provide as much or as little other personal information as you want to.

In a timely development, I see the following headline on the cover of this week's Time magazine: Why Boomers Hijacked Facebook.

The column by Lev Grossman in an entertaining read, but it still doesn't make me want to give up any time on this place to hang out on Facebook. :P
