This totally cracks me up! My ex went to Wasson, which he would reel off as RoyJWassonHighSchool2115AftonWayColoradoSpringsCO80909. I don't remember his mentioning the Thunderboard. One of my co-workers is from Manitou Springs, I'll ask him if he remembers anything about it.fantine33 wrote:The Thunderboard. Which will make no sense to anyone who was not a Wasson High School Thunderbird.
The fight song was a love fest for the tuba player. The only time the poor tuba player had any glory and got to be all sexy and stuff with the bad ass tuba riff in the song.
Here's Something To Discuss...

He must've said it a lot if you still remember Roy's middle initial and the address! (You even got the ZIP code right, btw). When did he go? It would be funny if I knew him, although my only full year of high school was 10th grade.SportsFan68 wrote:This totally cracks me up! The Thunderboard is no big whoop and I doubt anyone from another school would be aware of it. It was just a big posting board with messages and announcements and lists and stuff. Which is kind of the same as this board plus, whenever someone mentions tubas I always think of the Thunderbird Fight Song.

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Ok, lots of replying to be done here:

Hey now, I had plenty of glory and got to be all sexy and stuff plenty of times without the help of some fight song.fantine33 wrote:The only time the poor tuba player had any glory and got to be all sexy and stuff with the bad ass tuba riff in the song.

Yeah, what he said. Especially the first part.mrkelley23 wrote:Even though Dave had a lot to do with setting this one up, and I don't think we have too many members with the expertise and the wherewithal to set a PHPBB up, to name it exclusively after his handle would be to deny the efforts of the two Bobs and others who saw the end coming.

Yep, he did. He also would reel off something twice as long about a 1972 Ford truck that he owned. He graduated Wasson in 1971. Based on where he lived, he should have gone to the new high school his senior year, but there was something called "senior option" so he got to graduate with his buddies.fantine33 wrote:He must've said it a lot if you still remember Roy's middle initial and the address! Speaking of remembering zip codes, a couple years ago I amazed my friends with "and that's from Spiegel, Chicago, Illinois, 60609." "Thank you, Johnny Olson. What's the next item up on The Price is Right?!"
You're right about Thunderboard, the guy from Manitou never heard of it.

That was a decade before me, and even if he had much younger siblings I wouldn't know them if they didn't live near me, as I'm assuming the new school was Doherty.SportsFan68 wrote:
