Any resolutions?

#1 Post by cindy.wellman » Thu Jan 01, 2009 5:00 pm

1) New exercise plan.

2) Unsubscribe to quite a few websites to cut down on emails and don't subscribe to new ones.

3) Give more compliments and acknowledgments.

1. Start raiding only feeders with low fat birdfood

2. Get a scritch from Sprots

3. Get even better at my art

4. Start taking the knots out of my fur before I go out in public

5. Get a bellyrub from Sprots

6. Stop making fun of critters that aren't as adorable as I am

7. Exercise my rotator cuff so I can throw 20 feet farther

8. Learn how to throw lefthanded so I can properly peg ghost with an apple

9. Get Sprots to comb my tail once a week

10. Start flossing after chewing on wires

11. Get LB out of the house more so I can have more computer time

12. More hugs from Sprots

13. Get to at least know the names of the red squirrels I date

14. Sell some of my artwork to benefit the NSAS

15. Try out the red duct tape

16. Get a squirrel quilt for Casey to snuggle with

17. Help Annie more often with her homework

18. Get more scritches from everyone on the Bored.

19. Especially Sprots

20. Become an even more humble creature

There, I think I can live up to that. There isn't much about me that I need to change, but I believe there is room for improvement in everyone....
Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

--squirrelmama (10/3/07)

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

1. I want to gain weight -- at least 30 pounds.

2. Stop exercising. Waste of time.

3. Read less.

4. Watch more TV. I've been missing some good stuff.

5. Procrastinate more.

6. Drink. Drink some more.

7. Take up a new habit -- maybe smoking.

8. Spend more time at work.

9. Stop bringing lunch from home -- I should eat out more.

10. Start being superstitious.

21. Try to make up to those you spurned that no longer think you're adorable and want to give you scritches and belly rubs.

Since nobody (including myself) except ES has given Wellman any positive feedback:

YAY for Luuucy!!!!!11 Those are excellent and worthy resolutions and I wish you luck in your endeavours. And, even though I generally do not make resolutions, I'm going to be inspired by your example and whip out a few.

Oooh, I missed this thread. I'm still behind on Charm School. As soon as we stop looking for Dan in about 4 minutes and 4 seconds, I will take command of the TV and try and catch up.

1. Organize my life, starting with my mp3s and ending with my garage.

2. Crank up the yoga and meditation.

3. Cut my smoking to a pack every two weeks.

4. Embrace happiness instead of slamming the door when it comes knocking.

These are not resolutions, but they fit the thread, sort of:

I applied for a job with Hands On Charlotte, a local group that coordinates volunteers.

I bought the slow cooker and some oatmeal.

I am exercising six days a week.

I have been reading instead of watching movies. Not sure how long that will last but it's good to catch up a little bit.

I am not a fan of the word "resolution". It has too much decision in it. I prefer to intend, myself, not decide.

So, I have some intentions.

I intend to have my mom and dad experience doing things they love while dealing with alzheimers.

I intend to be a partner to my siblings and have them be my partners while living with my mom's alzheimers.

I intend to know when I am making a difference and when I am not making a difference to do something else.

I intend to be compassionate and loving.
