Winter fun in So Cal

#1 Post by PlacentiaSoccerMom » Tue Dec 30, 2008 4:53 pm

So it's winter in California and you want to entertain the kids.

What do you do?
Spoiler
We went to the Dog Beach in Huntington Beach.

Zap had a very good time, though he was the only dog on a leash. At first he kept attacking the white water when it rushed up to him, but he calmed down after ten or fifteen minutes. ]

Great pics. I think I hate you. I'll have to defrost my brain to be sure.

Winter is so rough in California!
Spoiler
And you wouldn't want Zap enacting the beach scene from Marley & Me. "Not cool, Dude!"

A golden retriever puppy that was probably about eight months old decided that he liked us and sat on our blanket with us. His owner's laughed at the fact that he was at the beach for five minutes and had already found a new family.

We were at the beach in So Cal from Thursday to yesterday.

I'm in Newport Beach right now and I drove by Dog Beach on my way here. Did you see me wave?

Did you flip your eyelids?

I had my head and tongue hanging outside the window. No flipped eyelids. I wasn't driving fast enough.

We have a house guest today, name of Kennebec -- I'm sure she's part greyhound because she is so fast! Also, she has greyhound lines except not so thin.

However, she likes the snow and has blue eyes, so she's almost certainly part husky too.

The reason she's our houseguest is because we have a fenced yard that will keep her in while her Mom is in Iowa and Dad is on a 24-hour shift saving lives and property, thereby saving a trip to the animal shelter where the staff has various names for her, one of which is not Kennebec . . .

Anyway, to get to the point, and I do have one -- if we were at the dog beach with Kennebec, she would be on a leash also.

Casey would be on the picnic blanket with PSMFamily if she thought she could cadge a treat or two . . .
