Well, gotta remember that we here in the States had turkey less than a month ago! It's too soon to do another turkey dinner.
I'm more amazed at how many are having beef rather than ham!
To me, Thanksgiving = Turkey, Christmas = Ham, Easter = either Ham or Leg of Lamb.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only two times each year I get to have turkey, so dangit, my mom makes a turkey for Christmas!
It is never too soon to have turkey. It should be served once a month.... and not that deli crap, the real McCoy.....

I don't know what's all up with this fancy schmancy beef this and roast that stuff.
Thanksgiving = Turkey.
Christmas = Turkey.
I think Easter = Turkey as well, although it might be Ham. We don't celebrate Easter very often, so I forget.
I think we always had turkey for Christmas because we had ham for Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve dinner I'd only have ham and jello because I didn't like anything else (baked beans, au gratins, ick). One year my cousin and I decided to make fried chicken and spaghetti for us. Everybody ate their regular CE dinner. And then ate all our chicken and spaghetti. But we still weren't able to turn traditional CE dinner into Fried chicken and Spaghetti Night.
After my grandma passed and we didn't have family CE anymore, we kept CD dinner as it was, since it has all the good stuff (turkey, mashed potatoes, corn) v. yuck stuff (ham, au gratin potatoes, baked beans).
