Hey, Baby!

#1 Post by Ted Nugent » Wed Dec 10, 2008 8:44 am

I was out drinking and bow-hunting with a couple of buddies the other day when it dawned on me how much I miss playing rock and roll. Unfortunately, I can’t fit into these stretch tights any more, and well, I can’t play guitar fer shit, either, or sing for that matter.

Fortunately, Winter Lyrically Speaking is returning on January 5th, so you can SEE my best tunes, all written out, like words and shit. Like having Cat Scratch Fever, you know.

As for me, I think I’ll go kill it and grill it.

Here’s some Motor City Madman humor for ya:
If I were an astronaut, what kid of Tang would I want the most?
Spoiler
Wang Dang Sweet Poon Tang, of course!
Got you in a stranglehold, baby.

And it's still as funny as it was 30 years ago.

Do they even still make Tang? (In America, I mean. My mom has a huge canister of Tang but they went all Fabuloso on the label, so I'm not sure if it's from Mexico or just for Mexican-Americans who aspire to the astronautical arts).

Now I want to hear some Ted, but I just realized I have no Nuge on CD. I have Weekend Warriors on 8-track, though. Ha!

I just read an interview with Rufus Wainwright in Newsweek. I bet it would be hilarious to put Rufus and Ted in the same room and record the conversation! They're both musicians, so I'm SURE they'd have a bunch in common.........

I saw that one coming a mile away!

I said he was a musician! Duh!

Okay, he covered Hallelujah on the Shrek soundtrack, and he wrote most of the Meet the Robinsons' soundtrack. You need some kids.

His dad is the Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road guy...

No I don't need any kids. Please see the christie thread.... :P

I'm not going to bother asking about the Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road guy. I'll just pretend he's some long lost relative of Adam Wainwright.....

I never thought of Rufus Wainwright as a musician for kids before.

And my fave version of Hallelujah is by John (don't call me JJ!) Cale. Although I hate how overdone and pervasive it's become over the last several years.

And to give this some ontopicosity (of the off topic variety), I was just explaining to lb the other night why JJ Cale became JJ in the first place.

Nugent's "Stranglehold" was a major goodie.

Played really, really loud (loudly?).
