Woman Swallowed Whole by Leopard

#1 Post by Sir_Galahad » Wed Dec 03, 2008 7:20 am

I thought it was one of those fake pictures too, until I saw the photo below. Somehow the woman must have been lodged in the leopard's throat and apparently they cut the leopard's head off to let the woman escape.

This photo proves that there are certain people who should never wear spandex.

I think her left ankle alone weighs more than ten pounds.

Definitely a summa cum laude graduate of a self-esteem course who doesn't care what others think of her. Plus ten for appreciating herself, another ten for exercising, minus several million for bad taste and tacky clothing.

Does she think the spots have a slimming effect? If so, she needs a few gazillion more.

(okay, I'm done now.)
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

At least she's exercising. I'll give her that.

My m-i-l came over yesterday after her doctor's appointment with the news she had lost 62 lbs since her surgery a year ago. So that got me wondering just how much she had weighed before. Yowza.

She like spots, but not Spandex, thankfully.

I'm not sure it was just one leopard....it seems like it was a pair of leopard Siamese twins that ate her.

I don't particularly care for the responses in this thread. I realize the topic was a joke, but I have trouble making fun of people for any reason. Perhaps the reasoning behind that is because I worry about what people say about me, who knows.

Much like the initial comments about Palin that appeared here, this just struck me the wrong way. The woman in the photo didn't do anything to the people here, but now she is the object of laughter because of a weight problem that she has. I also realize that people have a revulsion to excess weight, but I do wish there was a more tolerant attitude and more encouragement.

What or who can a person laugh at without offending anyone in this day? Maybe just laugh at themselves.

But you know what? That woman can at least lose weight (and it appears she's making an effort to do so), but the ignorant jackasses with all the enormously witty and glib remarks are, and will remain, ignorant jackasses.

For me, it was the wardrobe choice. I know several people this size and larger, but they tend to choose more flattering clothing than skin-tight spots.

I don't care what size you are, you don't dress in something like that and not expect to be commented on (Didn't we have this discussion not too long ago in one of the Palin threads?)

And if you ARE that size, you sure as hell find something a bit less......... uh..... revealing........

True, but some ugly can't be fixed.

The thing about it though is that the "wardrobe" appeared to be setting appropriate. She was not parading down main street in this attire nor did SHE choose to post her picture here for everyone to critique and ridicule. I personally think posting the picture here for public ridicule is no less offensive or egregious than the photo SirG (and I'm using the term "Sir" here ever so loosely) posted of the "Obama Family on the Way to the Whitehouse."

Obesity is the last bastion where prejudice, bias and bigotry is not only tolerated in our society but openly encouraged. I find this strangely paradoxical as the number of citizens who are either overweight or obese is already staggering and rising every year. And I've seen enough pictures of members of this board, and their spouses, to know a good percentage of the membership here should not be throwing stones.

A struggle is a struggle no matter what the obstacles are. I certainly don't profess to understand everyone's pathology or complexity of obesity, but I do understand fighting the battle and I understand kindness.

She was, after all, in a gym, YOUNG MAN. And maybe in a gym for plus size people where she felt secure.

And as for revealing, would we be having this conversation if it were some skinny bimbo with her tits and ass cheeks hanging out? Justing askin'.

Mebbe not the exact same conversation, but I'd bet one of the earlier comments would have come up.

Probably not, but aren't skinny bimbos why Spandex was invented in the first place?

I find the woman in the picture akin to the 60 year olds I always see around here who wear stuff that even Britney Spears would consider to be skanky because they think it makes them look sexy. I don't think you wear a leaopard print spandex suit of any size unless you are screaming for attention of some kind (Not that I would know personally, of course)....

I agree with dk wholeheartedly here. It disgusts me that people think it's okay to male comments under their breath about obese people. You don't know this person or the situation they come from.
Good luck to anyone who refuses to befriend someone because they're fat. And if you do, would you make fun of them? You'll run out of friends before long. It's easy to laugh at someone you don't know. But how would some of you like it if I called you wrinkled old pretzels simply because I'm young?
Think about it.
