But you know what? That woman can at least lose weight (and it appears she's making an effort to do so), but the ignorant jackasses with all the enormously witty and glib remarks are, and will remain, ignorant jackasses.cindy.wellman wrote:I don't particularly care for the responses in this thread. Much like the initial comments about Palin that appeared here, this just struck me the wrong way. The woman in the photo didn't do anything to the people here, but now she is the object of laughter because of a weight problem that she has. I also realize that people have a revulsion to excess weight, but I do wish there was a more tolerant attitude and more encouragement.
What or who can a person laugh at without offending anyone in this day? Maybe just laugh at themselves.

I may be fat but you're ugly...
And I can diet.

True, but some ugly can't be fixed. And I can have plastic surgery
Who was it who said, "Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes all the way to the bone"? (A quick search shows that it's anonymous)tlynn78 wrote:As the old saying goes:

t.
The thing about it though is that the "wardrobe" appeared to be setting appropriate. She was not parading down main street in this attire nor did SHE choose to post her picture here for everyone to critique and ridicule. I personally think posting the picture here for public ridicule is no less offensive or egregious than the photo SirG (and I'm using the term "Sir" here ever so loosely) posted of the "Obama Family on the Way to the Whitehouse."minimetoo26 wrote:For me, it was the wardrobe choice. She was, after all, in a gym, YOUNG MAN. And maybe in a gym for plus size people where she felt secure.littlebeast13 wrote:minimetoo26 wrote:For me, it was the wardrobe choice. I know several people this size and larger, but they tend to choose more flattering clothing than skin-tight spots.
I don't care what size you are, you don't dress in something like that and not expect to be commented on (Didn't we have this discussion not too long ago in one of the Palin threads?)
And if you ARE that size, you sure as hell find something a bit less......... uh..... revealing........

Mebbe not the exact same conversation, but I'd bet one of the earlier comments would have come up.DevilKitty100 wrote:And as for revealing, would we be having this conversation if it were some skinny bimbo with her tits and ass cheeks hanging out? Just askin'.

Think about it.
