But I did want to talk about one of the dilemmas I sometimes face in my line of work. Sometimes I have to put stuff out for sale even though the product itself horrfies me. Tonight, being the bad night it was, I wound up also having to stock Sporting Goods..... an area I've unfortunately seemed to picked up as a tertiary (did I spell that right?) area after Lawn & Garden/Christmas, and of course my pride & joy Chemicals. However, in all the times I had stocked over there in the past, I never had to put up what wound up coming in tonight.
I was putting up a case of little hanging packages of Crossman 290 ct. pointed pellets for use in one of the certain kinds of guns we sell. I'd already put half of the case up before my eye caught the little silhouetted figure located in the upper right corner of the package. As I typically have the last few months, when I saw what it was, I cracked a bit of a smile...... until it then hit me the purpose of that little figure on the package. If you haven't guessed by now, the silhouetted figure was most definitely that of a squirrel.... as in "Hey you rednecks! Guess what you can use these 290 little pointed pellets in this package on!!!" I was crushed. I didn't want to put up the last couple packages.... but I figured my job was worth more than a couple of ES's cute little bushy tailed friends........
BTW, I went to try to find a picture on the internet of the package..... and on the first frickin' page that came up on Google, there's a poor little squirrel laying on his back with a hole the size of one of those pellets in its belly......
