That didn't take long
Dylann Roof convicted of Federal hate crimes. Jury took less than two hours in deliberations (after six days of testimony).

Having served on a capital murder jury I can assure you lunch is the last thing jurors are pining for. That was an asshole statement.

There was absolutely no need, other than to "check the box" to even have a trial on this. Roof should have been hung before any of his victims were buried.

No. Regardless of how cut and dried it is you HAVE to go thru the charges, even if you're all in agreement. A firing squad beforehand probably would have been nice to preclude this whole thing, but, guess what, it's called due fucking process.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The role of criminal defense counsel is quality control for the criminal justice system. What would anyone want a criminal justice system without quality control?
