Gone Girl question
Obviously if you have not read the book or watched the movie and don't want any spoiling, close this thread and move along.
Of course both have been out long enough that I shouldn't have to spoil it.
I watched the movie the other night and have a question. So at the end when she says she is pregnant and he says we haven't had sex and he will get a paternity test. How does that change. What did she say to convince him to stay? I must have missed something.

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

It's been awhile since I read it, but wasn't her absolute nasty crazy a reason he stayed, to make sure she didn't pull something evil in the future? Or something?

My sense from watching the movie was if he tried to leave her, he would suffer a similar fate as Neil Patrick Harris' character.
