American Idol results spoiler

Spoiler
Only one real surprise for me was Asia'h going instead of Kristy Lee. When it went down to those two I was sure that it would go the other way.

Eliminated:
M- Luke, Danny (David H, the stripper, was on the bubble but announced safe midway thru. Chikezie and Danny were the last two to get the word)
W- Asia'h, Kady

Winner of 2011 Sports Madness

Just give the prize to the teenage boy and get it over with.

I got to see both the boys and the girls on tape just before the elimination show.

I was sure Luke would go. Then it was either Chekezie or Danny.

I was sure it would be Kady and Kristy.

I am going to practice not being sure.

Based on tonight's performances I would send Danny and Luke home.

My picks for leaving tomorrow are Asiah and Kady.

I'm insufferable when I nail one. ;)

That was a nice $900 score.

Only when you nail one?

I wish it had been Kristy instead of Asia'h.

Danny was quite more entertaining than cringe-inducing, but I don't know who I'd send home in his place since the other guys were better singers. Even if I don't really like some of them.

No, not only. But, it is one of those times.

Just based on how Danny Noriega acted after Simon's comments and then his entire attitude during last night's show, I was really, really, really wanting him to be heading home.

The other guy, Luke(?), really reminded me of Hugh Jackman.

Usually, the "hot" contestants seem to last longer, but it couldn't save Kady and Luke.

I had not seen the guy's show, but they really did do much better than the girls. Many interesting takes on 1980s songs. I think that my wife might actually buy the "Hello" and "Love is a Battlefield" songs. The latter especially was a brilliant re-interpretation of the song.

I think that it was just his confidence in singing that Wham! song made me think of Jackman portraying Peter Allen.

I saw Jackman on Broadway doing Peter Allen. It's not the same to me.
Luke was more like Luke Perry in 90210 to me.

At my house, Maddie thought that Danny was adorable. She felt a certain degree of empathy for him because she sees the things that the flamboyantly gay boys in Drama deal with on a daily basis.

When she saw the Christmas Rant video, it bothered her and she no longer felt like she wanted to call in a vote for him.

The re-interpretation was also brilliant the first time, when Pat Benatar did it that way on Unplugged (Vh1 Classic, represent!). For the second week in a row, Brooke was my favourite. I guess I'd say that Amanda was second best, but I've had a crush on Joan Jett since she was a Runaway and I hate it when other people do her songs, so I was prejudiced against her before she even sang.

Overall, I thought the girls picked sucky songs that couldn't even hold my attention for the two minutes or so that they sing.

I agree with HD (!) that the rude little hand gesture probably cost him a lot of the "adorable little gay boy" votes he was previously getting. Giving back a little lip is one thing, but being a rude little prat is another. But I was quite turned off of him anyway because of the myspace video.

And his crappy performance cost him the "on their merits" vote, so he was toast. He sang about 1000 times better last night on his sing out, since he wasn't so busy trying to put over his persona.

I'm sad that Hulando (I mentioned the other day that he reminded me of Hugh Jackman, so I'm in accordance with appa twice in one post!) is gone. Had he passed out the tickets to the gun show on Tuesday, that might have turned out differently.
