OK, here goes the humiliation part. Some of these were really hard, to me. Obviously. Others were "what huh?".
Night 1:
Q1
nautical phrase
1. hatch
2. down
3. batten
4. the
3,2,4.1 obviously
Q2:
musicians in order, recent ---> oldest
1. 'N'Sync
2. Sly & the Family Stone
3. LL Cool J
4. Alicia Keyes
I think I put
4,3,1,2
When the order is:
4,1,3,2
Alicia Keyes 2001
'N'Sync 1998
LL Cool J 1985
Sly & Family Stone 1967
When googling
'N'Sync
or however they spell it, I got hit with a massive computer virus attack, as symbolized by Symantec unsuccessfully trying to send me a zillion messages on an e-mail system I am not hooked up to; made it look like Symantec was the virus, whereas it was the anti-virus.
What I learned, though, is that LL Cool J had, like, test pressings only his family got copies of way earlier, but his 1st "real" recording was as far back as 1985. Who woulda knew? Not me, obviously. So its a fair out.

Night #2
Had just got news that family friend who was beaten into a coma by mugger had died. Now, I don't want to pretend that this guy was my best friend or anything. Just someone I knew; my sister & brother knew him much better. But still.
Q1:
Historical figures, early -----> recent
1. Anne Frank
2. Ben Franklin
3. St. Francis of Asissi
4. Frank Lloyd Wright
Anyone with 1/2 a brain knows Wright was designing buildings. or at least was old enough to, about the time Anne Frank was being locked up in the attic.
so what do I put?
3,2,1,4
Its obviously
3,2,4,1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Night #3
Q1.
music scale, low -----> high
So help me Hannah, I sing so much shape-note stuff I had the old English fasola scale in my head, which, in this case, didn't hurt one bit
1. so
2. la
3. fa
4. ti
3,1,2,4
Just for the record, the fasola scale goes fa-so-la-fa-so-la-mi-fa; same order as do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do
in this case, since they didn't have mi as a candidate, I realized my mistake while writing down "ti", in the right place anyway
Q2:
Movies, early ------> recent
1. Carrie
2. When Harry Met Sally
3. Marry Poppins
4. Something About Mary
3,1,4,2 is not right;
3,1,2,4 is right:
Poppins 1964
Carrie 1976
Harry/Sally 1989
Something About Mary 1998
Dumb to miss, but a legit miss all the same. I feel I have been hearing references to Something/Mary forever, all unpleasant stuff that I do not find funny
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Night 4:
The precipitation Q:
Q1.
Precipitation in order least ----------------------> most
1. light rain
2. cloudburst
3. drizzle
4. moderate rain
3,1,4,2 is wrong, by them
. We have discussed them. If anyone else gets it, please tell me what they really wanted.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Night 5:
Q1:
Inventions, early ---------------------> latest
1. typewriter
2. garbage disposal
3. mercury thermometer
4. sundial
4,3,1,2 did it
Q2:
Bruce Willis movies, early -------------------> latest
1. Pulp Fiction
2. The Whole 9 Yards
3. The 6th Sense
4. Live Free or Die Hard
1,4,3,2 wrong
1,3,2,4 right
Pulp 1994
6th 1999
9 Yd 2000
Die Hard 2007
I hate Bruce Willis, the smug jerk, but did like 6th Sense. Have never seen any of the others. I will watch Pulp Fiction when I really want to see torturers talking hip, which is not soon. I deserved to get this one wrong.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Night 6
Q1:
a phrase
1. good
2. food
3. is
4. soup
4,3,1,2
Q2:
Mystery Novels, early ------------------> recent
1. Murder On The Orient Express
2. Farewell My Lovely
3. The Pelican Brief
4. A Is For Alibi
1,2,3,4 not right
1,2,4,3 is right
Murder 1934
Farewell 1940
Alibi 1982
Pelican 1998
I had seen the Pelican movie on TV a long time ago; usually movies come out a while after books, but this one with a young Julia Roberts must have been made before the presses cooled off, or whatever.
An honest got-wrong.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Night 7.
a phrase
Oh, good, I think. I usually get phrases.
1. hot
2. the
3. under
4. collar
1,4
oh-my-G-d what have I done
1,3,2,4 of course
