He was featured in a Geico commercial recently.

I didn't realize we had 2 threads for this....
Of course, the RIP wasn't noted in the subject line of coasterick's announcement....

"...movie trailor broadcaster, gets the gig for all major studio pictures. Starring Johnny Gilbert as Don LaFontaine and Angelina Jolie as his much younger wife, Mimi. See the American Success story of a man who came from meager beginnings to the voice acting star of the big screen. His fall from grace, brutal months of rehab. This is not just his story, this is America's story, this is Don LaFontaine". "....from the producers of No Country for Old Men and Mama Mia, this film will certainly be on most critics 10 best lists for 2008". "...coming soon to this theater in all new digital formats in Dolby Digital stereo...".
RIP to Don and any other people who passed on over the Labor Day weekend.

My Treatment was just rejected by every major studio, so all we are left with is the Trailer!

He had such a distinctive voice and I wonder who they will get to take his place.

Bummer. His Geico commercial was my favorite of that group although the one with Little Richard is a not-too-distant second. The one with the guy that claims to be a acting teacher or something like that is, by far, my least favorite.

I think that is James Lipton. He does the actor's studio show. They can be good with the right guest. The Robin William's show was absolutely hysterical.

I'm sure that you, Jeff or Maddy would fill in just fine.

Cause of death was complications from a collapsed lung. First time I've heard that one.
