What movie should I see tomorrow?

I have a Hollywood Movie Money certificate for a free movie ticket, and it expires tomorrow. I have a separate certificate for "Tropic Thunder" only, so that one's out. I've already seen "The Dark Knight," so that's out, too. The pickings seem kind of slim right now, but I want to use the certificate. I haven't kept on top of reviews, so I'd like your help. From a quick glance at reviews, some possibilities are Traitor, Hamlet 2, Vicky Christina Barcelona, Pineapple Express, and Babylon A.D. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I just saw Pineapple Express, and it is very funny. Hamlet 2 also looks funny if you like irreverent humor. If you want something on the serious side Traitor and Vicky Christina Barcelona look like good options. Babylon A.D. was not screened in advance for critics, which usually means even the studio thinks it sucks.

We'll probably be seeing Hamlet 2 tomorrow, but the trailer for it looked hilarious (if you are not offended by a movie that features a song entitled "Rock Me Sexy Jesus").

I was disappointed in Pineapple Express, which seemed to me like far more miss than hit and played like a cross between a Cheech and Chong movie and a Three Stooges film. I was also underwhelmed by Vicki Christina Barcelona. The more that Woody Allen tries to turn Scarlett Johannson into his latest Diane Keaton/Mia Farrow protege, the worse the results get.

Roeper and whoever his guesthost was tonite both really liked "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." They said it might be Woody Allen's best film in 20 years. They also both liked "The Rocker."

I like Woody Allen movies when he isn't in them, or not much. I saw Purple Rose of Cairo last week and thought it was genius.

I remember loving Purple Rose of Cairo when I saw it in the theater. I need to watch it again.

I agree that PROC is really a very good movie, if you are renting it, try to rent (or buy) Buster Keaton's Sherlock Jr. - it is the perfect companion (and Sherlock Jr. is under an hour) so its a great double feature.

There was a time I would not miss an new Woody Allen movie, but in the last 20 years I've probably missed more of his later releases then I've seen.

For me, Woody and Bob Dylan have a similar career arc - both are still being prolific artists, both had produced such consistently amazing work for many, many years that IMHO was neither repetitve nor could be touched by any other artist working at that time period - and I think now produce works that, with the exception of occasional gems, while good, are mere shadows of their earlier work.

I'm glad that they are still producing and I'm also glad that they are not resting on their laurals or simply becoming oldies acts or just redoing what they did before - that they are still trying to break new ground - its just that, for me at least, they are no longer batting a thousand.

Regarding the original post - I've seen the Dark Knight but nothing else that is currently in the theaters - I've only seen a few films this year - the highlights for me were 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly' and 'Young@Heart' - two films I thought going into them might not be able to sustain themselves which turned out to be excellent from start to finish and extremely moving.

I had written down Traitor a long time ago, as opening around now and that I might want to see it. I think highly of Don Cheadle.
