It does seem to push the MM limits; other MM are either fictitious characters or very public characters. These two are (I presume) real but obscure private citizens, with their real photos being used as avatars. It is not unreasonable to imagine that they (or a friend or relative) would google their own names some day and find these posts.
Where's the shop steward from Local 1326?
This is like Al Capone telling J Edgar Hoover how to run the FBI.
The MMs in question - One is a published author, educator, religious scholar and translator. The other is an NCAA coach. These are less high profile than someone who ran for governor of Illinois 15 years ago? Steve Bartman? A Royals middle infielder? If they or their relatives read the posts, they too will be amused.
One other point, How many post under their name here, or elsewhere?

LOL!
Almost makes me want to bring back MarkMatthews100K, an MM I registered way back in November 2001 after the winner of $100,000 in one of those big Clear Channel nationwide radio contests at that time (Remember them?).....
Booch once registered the name of one of my old high school teachers when I invoked him in a diatribe....

I predict that Obama won't pick Edwards as his running mate.

I have a serious question for you, Nelly. If a draft were instituted tomorrow -- or the day after the election of the next Democratic president -- would you apply for an exemption on the basis of being a clergyman?
People can do that?

In the past, "minister of religion" and "divinity student" have been among the possible exemptions.

Wow, you'd think that the laws of supply and demand would cause those people to be more likely to be drafted, there being no atheists in a foxhole and all.
I'm darned good and ready.

I did not know that.
Well... while I would not be a soldier, I would not mind being a chaplain (I think that's the correct word) in one of the Armed Forces.

Anybody have Gov. Tim Kaine (VA) on their list? He's the latest trial balloon being floated to the media.
I like Tim Kaine... but seriously, what does he have that, say, Joe Biden and Bill Richardson don't?

He's not a national joke like Richardson for one thing.
Kaine has a big problem in VA politics. His term runs out in 2009; he can't run for re-election and there's nothing else (other than the House) that he could run for. So, barring a VP bid (which presumably would give Obama a better shot at VA), he's probably going the Howard Dean route, to some Democratic party bigwig position.

His panderfest in deciding to endorse Obama was pathetic even by the usual low Washington standards.
Obama's real problem in finding a VP right now is that he absolutely cannot pick his first choice... himself.

I'm not the only one who is down on Richardson. He had shown himself to be pretty much of a bumbler during the campaign before the big Obama suck-up (and it's not just that he opposed Hillary that I say this. Joe Biden opposed Hillary and he would probably be the best choice Obama has, if he'll take the offer).

I personally would love to see Obama pick Richardson (although he's definitely second tier right now). He's sure to make McCain's job easier.

OK Bazodee wins! I haven't looked through the rest of the thread to see who else got the exacta.
