114,000 votes might be about right for Representatives but not every single congressperson. Some Senators got a lot more votes than that.

Knew this last night. Not because of any connections, but because someone emailed the flight plan of a plane leaving Anchorage for, of all places, suburban Dayton.

Spent some time looking up stuff about Palin because the only thing I knew about her was the relative inexperience and the investigation.

I think she's a very interesting choice.

The NRA/union family combo could be very effective for McCain in places. As will her anti-abortion stand (And, sorry, but she is pro-death penalty, so she is not pro-life).

It also may be outweighed by how people view the economy for the last eight years. It will depend.

And, while her work as mayor is admirable, the town she was mayor of is smaller than some larger parishes in Philadelphia. Does that mean Monsignor F.X. Kane is qualified to be VP? He balanced my old parish's budget for years.

(That's not meant as snark but size is relative here).
