Charming movie

#1 Post by Ritterskoop » Thu Aug 21, 2008 2:30 am

I didn't hear of this much when it was in theaters, but Mom saw it with a friend in Oregon and has been drooling for the DVD.

Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day

It arrived in Wednesday's mail, having just been released. It is a little bit of farce and a romantic comedy and a great story. 1939 London is the setting. Bit of a chick flick, in that there are no explosions and the chase scenes are on foot, but if you like Frances McDormand, you will love it. Amy Adams is the starlet with three boyfriends. I liked her a lot in "Junebug", and she does a great job in this.

Also there was a preview of Billy Elliot on Broadway that looked awesome.

I shall add it to my m-i-l's list on Netflix.

Thanks for letting me know.

We saw it in the theater since the girls are fans of Lee Pace from "Pushing Daisies" and Amy Adams. All of us really liked the movie, even Jeff thought that it was cute.
