How come team handball never got a foothold in the US?
Didn't we have this discussion four years ago? Over at the GC? Or here?
It's fast-paced, with dribbling, passing and goalies. You need good teamwork, anticipation, split-second timing.
A fun watch.
One of the kids I covered in HS was on the US women's team in 1984. Because the US was the home country, the team handball teams were automatically invited.
So, I went to Fullerton to see them play. They lost to one of the world powers - Danes? Norwegians? - but I really was taken with the game.

We used to play team handball in gym class 25 years ago and it was even more fun to play than it is to watch. I agree that I don't understand why it's not more popular here (but then again I like soccer too) apart from the fact that there's no professional league. It's probably a chicken and egg thing - without popular support there can't be a pro league and without a pro league there can't be popular support.
