Chuck Woolery is set to host "The Meow Mix Game Show," a cat-centered competition that will air on GSN on Nov. 15.
The half-hour program, in which cats and humans compete for the chance to win $1 million and earn $100,000 for their local feline-related charity, will put a twist on classic game shows like "The Newlywed Game" and "Jeopardy!"
Owners will be quizzed on general feline knowledge, covering such categories as nutrition, behavior, anatomy and the role of cats in pop culture, as well as interactive challenges where cats and humans must work together to be successful.
Woolery said this represents a first for him.
"In my game show career, I've worked with TV stars, film stars, sports figures, legendary musicians and many other contestants," he said. "Now I'm thrilled to be working with my furry friends -- cats. It's a first for me, and I'm delighted to be partnering with Meow Mix and GSN."
The show was created by Grand Central Marketing and is exec produced by David Doyle.

Do cats really like tuna?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

I wonder how the cats will answer the "Why do you want to be on this show" audition question?TheConfessor wrote:Owners will be quizzed on general feline knowledge, covering such categories as nutrition, behavior, anatomy and the role of cats in pop culture, as well as interactive challenges where cats and humans must work together to be successful.

Maybe they would rather eat Meow Mix than eat a squashed hamster, as required by some other shows.MarleysGh0st wrote:I wonder how the cats will answer the "Why do you want to be on this show" audition question?

One out of the three would rather eat whipped cream than a squashed hamster and Meow Mix.

Unless nobody was watching.

Cat food is pretty yummy stuff, though.
Jasper and Lily are fierce with critters. They regularly track down and eat the crickets in my yard.

My old cat Luca used to kill all the spiders and bees that would find their way into the house. He left them all in one corner of the living room, so it was easy to get rid of them. I know that was his way of showing that he cared!PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Jasper and Lily are fierce with critters. They regularly track down and eat the crickets in my yard.

That is, in fact, who I named him after! And it was a pretty good fit...loyal, but dumb...MarleysGh0st wrote:Luca? Everyone always assumed it was the Suzanne Vega song...but that was about a girl. However, the fact that I lived on the second floor when I had him led to neverending jokes.

I had always pictured the song Luka about a boy, but maybe it's because I watch too much VH1 Classic and the video always makes me think the poor kid was a boy...

There are plenty of sources online that will verify that Luka was about a boy. Also plenty that say Luka was a girl. At least one claimed that Suzanne Vega said Luka is a boy, and he wasn't abused, but he did live upstairs from her, and years later, he came to see Vega and brought a friend, just to prove that he was the actual Luka.littlebeast13 wrote: I had always pictured the song Luka about a boy, but maybe it's because I watch too much VH1 Classic and the video always makes me think the poor kid was a boy...
