I was talking about Lithuania, Belarus or Ukraine, which are considered the most likely suspects. I didn't even know about Kaliningrad. I guess I'm not a very good Russian. I think it's because for so long it was just the big ol' USSR so everything was referred to as "Russia". I've often said that today's kids have it a lot rougher in geography, there's way more countries to keep track of and learn capitals!sunflower wrote:Too funny, my dad's family is also from "some small Russian country"...people always think I'm crazy when I don't know which one. As much as I'd love to be Lithuanian (they're crazy!), I lean towards Belarus as the last name ended in 'ov' rather than 'ius'.
