Slashdot Poll: Best Star (Wars or Trek) Battle
I'm copying this daily poll from Slashdot, because it's too good for science fiction fans to miss!

I didn't vote only because the choices didn't include the transport vehicles that looked like gigantic camels -- from the first or second release back in the dark ages. I couldn't even tell you which movie any of those other "memorable" battles are from (except the one with JarJar, which was so awful I won't even credit it as a movie.)
I like those camels, even if they did belong to the bad guys. I still have custody of one of the Mattel versions.

Ummm, they're asking about hypothetical battles between one Star Wars character and one Star Trek character!silvercamaro wrote:I couldn't even tell you which movie any of those other "memorable" battles are from (except the one with JarJar, which was so awful I won't even credit it as a movie.)
For some (OK, one) of the choices, it's not so much the prospect of a "good" battle as one of "a battle I'd dearly love to see both of them lose".

Ah. I see now. My bad for not reading carefully. Well, then, my choice is "none of the above." I'd like to see a hypothetical battle between the camels and tribbles. Sure, the camels have the advantage of massive size, but I'm betting that the tribbles can reproduce fast enough to gum up all the knee joints, thus rendering the giant machines immobile.MarleysGh0st wrote:

Is that better?
Perhaps I shouldn't admit that I don't even recognize the names of all of the Star Trek characters.

But how would the tribbles do against an army of evil squirrel's buddies?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

Shirtless. Also supposing young Kirk.

Thanks, Christie! It was all for some fun on a Friday afternoon.christie1111 wrote:LOL!Here's Fanny! wrote:Now I know how Marley feels when he reads one of my Vh1 Beyotch Show posts. Ha!
Marley Sweetie, you know I love you, but seriously, this poll just made me laugh out loud. Alot!
MWAH!
I originally voted for the Death Star vs the Borg Cube on the Slashdot site, but I voted for the Stormtrooper vs. the Red Shirt here, for its comedic value.
How could the Red Shirt die when the Stormtroopers never hit anything?

Not sure you would want to see a "young" Kirk shirtless. There was a reason he wore that girdle...Ritterskoop wrote:hf_jai wrote:Assuming we're talking young Solo and Kirk, this is the battle that I'm most like to watch.

If the Ewoks can figure out how to bring down the AT-ST (chicken walker) vehicles in RotJ, then Tribbles can definitely bring down the AT-ATs simply by multiplying beyond all measurement (imagine the scene from "The Trouble with Tribbles" - Kirk deluged by Tribbles - and multiply that a million times over).silvercamaro wrote:Ah.
