That's two Sunday nights in a row now.

Yeah. This week, a buddy and his kids were over, taking refuge from the NASCAR hoopla in their hometown of Watkins Glen. :)

So, we finally finish a multiplayer game of Civ III and they decide they want to try a game of Alpha Centauri next--which is a game I haven't played in five years!

I tried installing it on my "new" (vintage 2004) PC, but it has errors. I tried installing a patch for use with Windows XP, as recommended on the Firaxis website, and it still fails. :(

So, they're on their way home and I'm checking in on the Bored once more before bed.

Been kind of a quiet evening around here. We did get word that the little
girl in the swimming accident was declared brain dead about 1:30 yesterday afternoon. It has been such a trauma for those 7 little 6 year old girls that were with her when it happened.

I hope they all can recover. It's not going to be easy.

Oh Kay, I'm so sorry. Have you been able to speak with your friend? I'm thinking of you.
