my baby moved into her apartment today

#1 Post by lilyvonschtupp26 » Sun Aug 10, 2008 4:28 pm

I packed her up and sent her on her way to school to her own place. She tells me it's a great apartment, her roommates are wonderful and all's well with the world. Then, she tells me they don't have any cleaning supplies, why would they need them? I'm going down in a few weeks, so we'll see what paradise looks like! It was hard letting her go today. This year more than last. I thought it would get easier.

I forget how far away she is. Girls are usually a lot cleaner than guys.
I think they'll probably find the cleaning supplies before too long.

I hope she does well her first year and they all get along well.

I so feel for you, vonSchtupp! On the same track here, but about two weeks behind you. We’ve already made a couple trips downstate to find a place & set up her bedroom and bath (we brought cleaning supplies, but guess who ended up doing most of the scrubbing, as it all looked "fine" to her...), but when it comes time for us to actually drop her off and then leave – alone, I just don’t know how I’m gonna do it. Been dreading this day since the day she was born - it went so darn fast.
Is it super tough?

Meanwhile, we’ll be hitting Chi-town next weekend to visit family for a few days before she ships off. Haven’t been back home in about five years; I wonder if there's anything new and exciting that we shouldn’t miss while we’re there?

She's taken this huge step on the road to adult independence; why would you come down and scrub a place that looks fine?

Now, I'll admit that there are many corners of my place that don't look fine, if you want to do some scrubbing over here... :P

What can I tell ya- I guess just trying to squeeze out the last vestiges of mommy-ness before I have to accept it all.

Hey, since you're still up, a little corner-scrubbing of your own might be sleep inducing...
