Great show to look for ...

#1 Post by dimmzy » Tue Aug 05, 2008 6:53 am

Long Way Down.

It's on Fox Reality, which isn't easy to find on ANY cable listings, but this show is worth finding.

Actor Ewan MacGregor and a friend have created a documentary about their motorcycle trip through AFRICA. It's like Amazing Race with a cute and funny actor :)

They also did a similar show a couple of years ago: Long Way Around, about their motorcycle trip across the former Russian republics. Illuminating, touching and funny ...

Would love to have him as MY tour guide

My BIL the film producer was not that enamored of Mr. MacGregor.

He (EM, not my BIL) was much younger then, though, and presumably less mature.

Cute maybe but not a "man's man" for sure with his Moulon Rouge and Renee Zellwegger co staring credits.

As for journies through Africa and the Middle East by bike, etc. check out Dr. Danger on MOJO network (on the HD tier) or you can purchase Season 1 from their website on dvd. Real medical doctor Bob Arnot journies through countries on both a humanitarian and adventure mission and documents his trips in a seamlessly unabiased way. Fascinating! :D [/spoiler]

It sounds great!

--dimmzy, who plans to get an HDTV. I've visualized it, so naturally it will come true.

They are still showing reruns on MOJO of both Season's one and two of DD. Season Two definately has some freaky real life and death moments!

Good for MOJO. I don't get that channel, though. I bet my sister does -- she has an HDTV.

But she limits my visits.

Actually you can watch an episode (see my previous reply above) on their website to whett your appetite. BTW amazon sells individual episodes for $1.99!
