From Ginger..... (long time bb's plz read)
It has been a long time since I have been here and many may not remember me, but as we always tried to learn a lot while we were here, I would like to pass on what I've learned. If you have acid reflux, do something about it. So many times, we pop a Tums or take Pepcid if we feel like it, but really don't think of it as more than an inconvenience. If left untreated, it erodes your esophagus and turns into esophageal cancer. The worst part of esophageal cancer is there are no symptoms until it spreads to other areas of the body and by that point, there is little chance of recovery. My father passed away last Friday and we only found out about the cancer because of a fluke last Thanksgiving. Go home and hug your families, and everyone take care.

Ging, I am so sorry for your loss. You will be in my prayers.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Ging, I'm so sorry.
Thank you for thinking of us at this difficult time in the hope that we can learn something from it. I will take it to heart.

Ging, regardless of how often you do or don't drop by, you're never far away from our thoughts, in good or bad times. I'm so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Having lost one parent myself (and with another not doing all that great at times), I know the pain you're feeling. Know that it does dull over time, although it never goes away completely, but that' a good thing. While your father's time with you wasn't as long as you'd have liked, remember all the good times, forgive both him and yourself for the bad, and keep his memory alive by passing on his wisdom to everyone else.

Please forward my love and hugs to Ginger. I miss her on the Bored.
My husband has had some trouble with acid reflux. Luckily, his Dr. has been proactive and he has gone in for tests and is regularlu monitored as well as on a prescription to help lessen the effects.
Thank you for trying to enlighten those who think it is just a touch of heartburn.
Hugs to you Ginger, and come visit us. We miss you.

Condolences here as well. I'm sorry for your loss.
As with my personal experience recently I would counsel everyone to always find out what is wrong. Don't continue to take things that treat the symptoms. If something hurts, it is your body telling you something is wrong.
Acid reflux, indigestion, whatever is not normal and and the cause should be dealt with. I think it is criminal that the makers of antacids and such can advertise and selltheir wares where as some natural remedies (and lifestyle changes) can't even be discussed commercially for fear of FDA sanctions.

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

My heart goes out to you and everyboy else who loved your Dad.
We miss you here.
Thanks for the warning. Count me as one who will use this info to my advantage. I don't have a doctor, but I'll get one to check this out.
I get stuff stuck in my espophagus from time to time, and I can't say that it hasn't been a cause of concern.
Thanks again, and Godspeed to you an yours.

Ging,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember the kind words you had for me and my family after my wife's stroke, and I hope this message can give you a bit of the same comfort I felt from you. I will include your family in my prayers, that the Lord can send comfort during these difficult days. Keep in mind the good times you had with your father, and know you can rely on the bored as a source of strength. May God bless you and your family richly in the coming days.

Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!
That'll be $10, please.
