That "new" radiation

#1 Post by peacock2121 » Mon Aug 04, 2008 5:53 am

I spoke of..... well it was not really as easy or simple as we thought.

Everything is fine. It all went well and she is done.

However, not as easy as I had thought.

Each morning is a 2 1/2 hour deal. You have to go and have some imaging done to make sure that the catheter had not moved and that the radiation is going to the correct place. Once that is done and read, then you go for the radiation. There is much time spent on a cold hard surface.

Then back 4 or more hours later.

The afternoon is not as long - only about 1 1/2 hours.

They keep the waiting room very cold.

Sting said that if he were a woman, he would go with the 6 weeks, 5 times a week, in and out in under 15 minutes each time. Like a daily business call.

Not so sure what I would do. I think it would depend on how far away I lived from the office.

I read this twice, so if I understand she is done? I would probably be happy to have it over with. I hope she is doing well.

Yes - she is done.

She only has to go back to the ocologist to talk about whether she does the hormone therapy or not.

It all is behind her.

She is up to planning a trip to Ashville!
