Come Monday, it'll be all right...
Come Monday, I'll be gripping the steering wheel tight
After 2 lonely years
Of high gas price fears
I'll have my new Prius to drive...
My apologies to Mr. Buffett.
I pick up my new Seaside Pearl Prius on Monday. I'm looking forward to it.

I just did the mileage on Mary Jean today because it was the last day of the month to get my supermarket gas discount and she only took 5 gallons so the math was easy.KillerTomato wrote:Come Monday, I'll be gripping the steering wheel tight

FOR THE LABOR DAY WEEKEND SHOW,
I'VE GOT MY HUSH PUPPIES ON,
I GUESS I NEVER WAS MEANT FOR GLITTER ROCK AND ROLL.
AND, HONEY, I DIDN'T KNOW
THAT I'D BE MISSIN' YOU SO.
Chorus:
COME MONDAY, IT'LL BE ALL RIGHT.
COME MONDAY, I'LL BE HOLDING YOU TIGHT.
I SPENT FOUR LONELY DAYS IN A BROWN L.A. HAZE,
AND I JUST WANT YOU BACK BY MY SIDE.
YES, IT'S BEEN QUITE A SUMMER,
RENT-A-CARS AND WESTBOUND TRAINS,
AND NOW YOU'RE OFF ON VACATION,
SOMETHING YOU TRIED TO EXPLAIN.
AND, DARLIN', IT'S I LOVE YOU SO;
THAT'S THE REASON I JUST LET YOU GO.
Chorus
I CAN'T HELP IT, HONEY. YOU'RE THAT MUCH A PART OF ME NOW.
REMEMBER THAT NIGHT IN MONTANA WHEN WE SAID
THERE'D BE NO ROOM FOR DOUBT.
I HOPE YOU'RE ENJOYING THE SCENERY,
I KNOW IT'S PRETTY UP THERE.
WE CAN GO HIKING ON TUESDAY;
WITH YOU, GIRL, I WOULD WALK ANYWHERE.
CALIFORNIA HAS WORN ME QUITE THIN,
I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN.
Chorus:
I SPENT FOUR LONELY DAYS IN A BROWN L.A. HAZE,
AND I JUST WANT YOU BACK BY MY SIDE.
Sorry about the CAPS. It was written that way when I copied it.

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

I am the proud driver of a 2000 Blazer. Yes, I know it should be a Dodge if her name is Mary Jean. My mileage is practically all in town. Rarely more than 7 or 8 miles at a time, usually 3 or less. So that's a MPG killer, right there.
Plus, although 'some' people might claim that high altitude increases mileage, I believe it's the opposite. It just seems that way because when people go to lower altitudes they don't adjust their timing and they run rich.

Thanks for reminding me to get my supermarket gas discount. Our don't expire at the end of the month (I hope!) but I think I only have 2 or 3 weeks to use them. I'm up to 60 cents off so I don't want to lose it, I'm going today!!Here's Fanny! wrote:I just did the mileage on Mary Jean today because it was the last day of the month to get my supermarket gas discount and she only took 5 gallons so the math was easy.

My dad's Ram extended cab gets about 13 mpg. No diesel.BackInTex wrote:What the heck are you driving, a Ram dually diesel? Here's Fanny! wrote:I just did the mileage on Mary Jean today because it was the last day of the month to get my supermarket gas discount and she only took 5 gallons so the math was easy.KillerTomato wrote:Come Monday, I'll be gripping the steering wheel tight

I do about 12,000 miles/year, about 80% of which is city driving.

I first saw them inRome a few years ago. But was very familiar with them due to how many parts are powder coated, another plus.VAdame wrote:I was waiting for the light at Beacon & Murray in Squirrel Hill today when a Smart Car drove by -- first one I've seen in person. Itty-Bitty!
My Dodge Stratus gets pretty good MPGs -- way better than the van I traded in last year.
We have a dealer nearby so we are seeing quite a few of them around here. Especially company with logos on them.
Oh, and I am very happy for you KT. Sounds like things are going well for you. That job going permanent soon, or are you just as happy contracting?
