I see. Any other opinions on whether or not it's a good idea to try again in August? I guess if I get to the 2nd interview stage again, TPTB might recognize me... Wonder if that would put a bad checkmark in my column. :|

Just my opinion as someone who is not an active auditioner, but I think you'd be okay with a second audition because it's in your home town, so it's not like you're making an effort to interview again after they already said no. I think it's only sad and desperate if you actually made repeated trips spending time and money on it that just says to them that you can't take no for an answer.

If they do recognize you and make a remark, have a funny response at the ready (sounding off the cuff, of course) about how you were just walking past on your lunch hour and thought you'd stop in and say hey or how DC is much more flattering on you or something.

I'm not saying those are good remarks, but something funny and snappy that doesn't make it seem like you've stayed up nights plotting their course across America.

I'm darned good and ready.

Plus they've already sent you a sad card, so what kind of penalty can a checkmark in the bad column do?

I agree with the fanster. You went to NY for other reasons including trying out for the show. Now they're in your hometown. Why not try out?

If I ever decide to do the full dickey I'll proudly wear that embroidery. It'll draw attention away from my hickeys.

Whoa, pal. Why would you want to do that?

Display those suckers proudly. That's my motto.

Your hickeys look just fine jokeyperson. But have you ever thought of wearing a mask?

And yet that is the answer you always get.

My answer to idream was based upon the question for which she wanted opinions. Should she try out a second time in the same season when they auditions came to her home town?

Your situation is different. If you asked for my opinion on your situation, I'd answer differently.
