Not worried, But
Biopsy is a really ugly word isn't it?
Mole on my face that is not healing-dermatologist tomorrow to cut it off and the (very attractive, young, female) family doctor who did not want to it said they will probably Biopsy it.

Minor correction: Biopsy USED to be an ugly word, back when cancer was the most dreaded disease you could get and there were very few treatment options.
Nowadays biopsy is a very good word, since so many cancers are treatable and even curable. It may not be any more pleasant than other medical tests (although it can't be worse than the drinking of the pre-colonoscopy goo, or even the annual prostate check) but the results are soooooo worthwhile.
Good luck.

Perhaps you'll get the "dermatologist's surprise" like I did. "That mole you're worried about is fine, but that place on your cheek is cancer" (but a "mild" form that is now history)
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

It's a much nicer word than 'autopsy,' which 'biopsy' often prevents (or at least, postpones). Good luck on this.Spock wrote:Biopsy is a really ugly word isn't it?

I've been biopsied twice and thought both were beautiful. If they'd been malignant, I'd have been singing a different tune...
