Well, I'm off...

#1 Post by frogman042 » Wed Jul 23, 2008 7:06 am

and an addition to that I leave today for the Big Apple and my shot in the Hot Seat.

Last night I had the best send-off I could imagine - I got to play trivia with TheConfessor and Hermillion here in Austin - wow - talk about a powerhouse table - it was really an honor to have been able to be with them! I've posted some photo's of the evening here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/11155423@N ... 327478084/

If anyone is in NYC over the next few days, I can't guarentee we can get together but if you PM me, I can see if the schedules work out.

Finally, whatever happens in the Hot Seat - I want to thank everyone for the great advice, words of encourgement and support - I feel I'm already a winner by getting a chance to interact and even meet with so many heavy hitters of the trivia world. To play with some of the best players and to have a Kevin Bacon Trivia number of 1 through them to virtually every other trivia champ is just too cool.

I'll probably have only very limitted internet access from this afternoon until after Friday, but I'll poke my nose in the bored if I get the chance and will probably be able to post some info about the experience (sans results) sometime next week.

Run the stack!
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Good luck! And next time the three of you get together, make it a million dollar triumvirate.

Woo hoo! Kick some trivial booty! Break a leg! Or a brain cell, as it were!

And most importantly, have a great time. :-)

Have fun and enjoy the 10:30 am "lunch"!!!

And just think, as frustrating as the day can be as people are picked out of the green room...they could sit downstairs under the stage forever. You are better off waiting in the green room with the soda, cookies and bathroom. You are. You will get on the show, that is for sure, and it's not worth stressing over the order. People in my green room were all worked up (including me) and it wasn't at all worth it.

Relax, have fun, enjoy it and come home with lots of money!! :)
