They usually audition for the special weeks at a certain point in time, rather than an ongoing basis. If I were you I would clarify that ahead of time, maybe call the contestant hotline. I'm guessing that they're only doing the normal test but you never know, if they didn't find enough 3 generations contestants they might still be looking.
When I auditioned, it wasn't announced that they were testing for wedding week, but once we sat down to take the test they asked if anyone was engaged and interested in it.
The only way to know for sure is to hear it from someone on the production staff.

OK, so is there a number I call, or do I ask the day of my audition?

If you are going to audition regardless of the answer to the question - and if the three people in your 'three generation team' are going to audition regardless of the answer to the question - wait until you sit for the test.bondguy007 wrote:OK, so is there a number I call, or do I ask the day of my audition?
If you are only going if you can audition for that series - then call.
I don't have the number.
I bet someone here does.
Have them PM it to you.

They don't have a special test for the Three Generation show, so you can just mention that you're interested in that while taking the regular test. Since they'll still be auditioning for that on the road auditions in mid-August and August 26 is the very first taping date after that, it's unlikely that the casting would be closed for that series already.sunflower wrote:They usually audition for the special weeks at a certain point in time, rather than an ongoing basis. What was T-Bone's name; I'm curious to see if that's on Youtube. Anyone know?OCDer wrote:The bb in the wheelchair was T-bone. Who could forget his story about the ride home. (he was on the PT version & lived too close to fly in)

He didn't make it out of the Ring of Fire into the Hot Seat. That was back in primetime, when you still had to win a Fastest Finger to move on. I don't think anyone would have bothered to YouTube his wave.bondguy007 wrote:What was T-Bone's name; I'm curious to see if that's on Youtube. However, T-Bone did tell us that they had built a ramp for him, in case he had won that FF. We suspect it may be the same ramp they finally did use for that other contestant in 2006.

3 Generation Week
My daughter, father & I auditioned in NY for the 3 Generation Week - everyone gets the same test (it's the same as the usual contestant test). I think 75 may be on the high side - I know I got a few wrong and both my daughter and father got at least 7 or 8 wrong - maybe 70 is the magic number. The audition hotline is 212-456-4610 - you can ask them about whether they are still auditioning for 3 Generation Week. Good luck.

Did your team pass the test? If so, how did the group interview go?BARTMAN wrote:My daughter, father & I auditioned in NY for the 3 Generation Week - everyone gets the same test (it's the same as the usual contestant test). Our general consensus has been that the passing threshold has been 25 for the individual tests. (They could tweak that threshold up or down whenever they desire, of course.) But since 3 Generation Week can include kids as young as 12, I think their cumulative threshold is probably a lot lower than 70 or 75.

How do YOU know? It WAS a rather majestic type of wave! I hear tell that beauty contestants far and wide study that wave for all the subtle nuances and deep meaning found within it. Much like acting students study Olivier.MarleysGh0st wrote:He didn't make it out of the Ring of Fire into the Hot Seat. Yes. I was to motor up that ramp, and the game screen would be in front of me. In essence, my wheelchair would be my "hot seat". As far as the auditions go, bondguy, they are accessible. Everything ground level. However, T-Bone did tell us that they had built a ramp for him, in case he had won that FF. We suspect it may be the same ramp they finally did use for that other contestant in 2006.
If you make it to where you get to use that ramp on the show, my friend, tell the folks there that, since they didn't want to invite me back, the least they could do is name the ramp after me.
