Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Here's Your Score: You correctly answered 12 of the 12 possible questions along with approximately 3% of the public. You did better than 97% of the general public.

Yet.... me and sploofus, not so much.

The thing is, if you are gonna take the time to take this test, wouldn't you think you would know most of this stuff?

You pretty much have to be living under a rock to not know most of that stuff.

Don't you?

Not exactly - and the one most people got right.

How sad is that?

Got 'em all, barely. Wasn't positive about Senate Majority.
Sploofus has not been my friend this month. But I'm trying to dig my way out of the hole I dug.

Spoiler
On July 15, the Dow closed below 11,000, meaning that 10,000 was the correct answer for someone who took the quiz on that day, not 12,000.

I took the quiz and got 11 of them right. That put me in the 91st percentile. I think I either missed (a) the stock market question or (b) the question about which county split from Serbia-I said Kosovo. I guessed 11.000 for the stock market Q.

All in all, I thought this was pretty easy stuff.
I'm just a game show nerd.

You should demand a tougher test.

6/12! I rock! At least, I rock harder than 48% of everybody else. Ha!

Three of them I knew I picked wrong (I thought it was Democrats that were the majority, but I had picked a Republican in the previous question, so I figured I'd go big or stay home).

On the other hand, I've worked my way back from almost quadruple digits to double digits this month in Sploofus so, yay me! I'm happy.
Spoiler
I'm darned good and ready.
