They will be at my house tonight so I can prepare dinner, her choice since she won't be eating for awhile.

Without even offering it to the BB who supplied your answer?
Really!

If you didn't want it, why would you not PM the person who gave you the correct answer.

'You' didn't REALLY win it!

Amazing.
That's like saying a phone-a-friend who says, "I think it's X," on a $100,000 question should get the money.

I took inniskillin's guess and verified it.

Not exactly - inniskilln didn't know he was helping you win a contest.

That is not to say that I think you did anything wrong in not offering him the prize.

I also don't think the PAF is a precise analogy, as in addition to the notice/consent of being a part of a contest, I would think in that case the person in the hot seat presumably WANTS the $100,000 and is not giving all the cash away.

However, while I would have enjoyed an iPhone very much, I submitted what I believed to be the correct answer without any expectation of recompense, so I don't feel like I was cheated. BTW, I got the answer from hazy memories of being there when I was young - the green roof struck me as oddly familiar, and the Google pics I turned up of the Four Seasons Lanai and other Lanai locales had roofs in that color. Other harbor pics, while not proving it conclusively, also supported my answer.

And inniskillin is a she. :)

To me the point was that he didn't want it and gave it away. The first person I would have thought to give it away to was the person who helped me win it.

And I will update surgery in a separate thread.

They're goving away another one. I think I know the answer. If I win this one, I'll have it sent to inniskillin.

You post like your dickey's too tight around your neck....
Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

--squirrelmama (10/3/07)

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.
