Schering-Plough is the maker of two of our favorite cold and allergy remedies, Drixoral and 12-hour Chlor-Trimeton. BD has an evil post-nasal drip that refuses to go away and gives her a continuous sore throat. We wanted to get one of these remedies for her for the bachelorette weekend and beyond. We could not find them anywhere. One store said they had been re-ordering Drixoral for three months and had not received any.
I looked it up. Schering-Plough is building a new manufacturing plant for these products. In its infinite wisdom, it decided to SHUT DOWN the original plant before the new one is in production. Which won't occur until sometime in 2009. Without bothering to tell retailers and consumers to stock up prior to the shutdown. Without increasing production ahead of time to build enough inventory to tide them over.
Judging from what I've seen on the Internet, they've created a lot of angry consumers out there. Add my family to the group.

I HATE when they do stuff like that. From my experience, you can sometimes still get stuff like that at smaller mom & pop type grocery stores or drugstores. Pay a little more, but it's worth it. Call around! If you can find any in CT I'd be happy to pick it up and mail it to you, you'd have it tomorrow!
