Parent Stuff

#1 Post by peacock2121 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 6:39 am

My m-i-l is doing well. They got clean margins and no lymph node involvement. Onward to radiation.

My mom is on the downhill slope of dimentia.

My siblings and I are handling it all with love and a united front.

My dad is a new dad - gentle and kind and supportive.

Life goes on and so will ours.

I'm glad to hear the news on your MIL....I've been worried about her for a bit now. Sorry about your mom. It does sound like your dad is coping for now. I hope it continues. It's very hard on the care giver.

I'll keep your whole family on the good vibes list.

Geez, Pea. I'm so happy about your m-i-l; rather, not happy she's had to undergo this stuff, but that it's all under control.
I'm sorry about your mom. I think that's probably going to be the hardest thing to deal with for you and your dad and sibs.
Vibes and prayers.
Well, then

Sending all my good vibes for the difficult days ahead, Pea -- also all my good wishes for these two wonderful women in your life. I'm glad for their sakes that you're on the team.

It made me cry with pride and joy to watch how he is with her.

Everytime she didn't know where their bedroom was, he showed her to it like he had never done that before.

She got very confused everytime we left my sister's house on the lake and went to the rental house on the lake. She wanted to be taken home before we got to where we were going. She calmed down when I told her that Dad was at the rental house.

Pea, I'm pleased to hear that your MIL's tumor hasn't spread and the treatement is doable. It sounds like she might have a pretty good attitude about the whole thing now, and you undoubtedly deserve much of the credit for that. I pray that your mom's slide may be very s-l-o-w, for her sake and on behalf of everyone who loves her. May you see little difference a year and a decade from now.

My heart is with all of you.

Thoughts are with you, as always. Hoping for days of more good news, better health, peace, and humor...and strength and support for the days when things don't go so well..for all concerned.
