RIP Dorian Leigh former calculus student and

#1 Post by themanintheseersuckersuit » Fri Jul 11, 2008 9:28 am

US Navy draughtswoman The Girl Who Had Everything
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

If it's out of print, the prices on it just went up a good bit.

It is indeed out of print. I sold mine for 99 cents. I don't plan on checking out ebay in the coming weeks, I don't want to know.

Although, there are probably very few people any more who even know who she is, or that she was still alive (is Suzy Parker still with us?), so perhaps there won't really be a demand.

Alas, her little sister Cecilia is also no longer with us. She died about 5 years ago at age 70.
